Airborne disease can spreads when people with certain infections cough, sneeze, or talk, spewing nasal and throat secretions into the air. Some viruses or bacteria take flight and hang in the air or land on other people or surfaces and use the surface as a source of transmission.

When you breathe in airborne pathogenic organisms, they take up residence inside you. As Corona virus (Airborne disease) create huge impact across the world, huge number of people are infected. As we know that the following are the common ways in which the Corona virus can be transmitted from one person to others,

  1. By touching the infected persons,
  2. Through corona infected surfaces like chairs, table.,
  3. The droplets of the infected persons spreads through coughing or sneezing,.
But now World Health Organization (WHO) warns like the corona virus spread through air (Airborne disease) also and take the precautionary steps to prevent corona transmission. 


Suppose the infected person cough, then the Aerosol contains the corona virus sustains in the air and transmit to other person who breathe the Aerosol. This has proven by the 239 experts across the world.

Since the corona virus is an Airborne disease, we need to follow the following precautionary steps,
  1. Wearing mask is mandatory even staying in home,
  2. Wash Hands frequently,
  3. Don't go outside and stay in home,

Almost we all have some experience with the flu. Before you notice the first symptoms, flu spreads so easily because it’s contagious about a day. It remains contagious for another 5 to 8 days. If you have a weakened immune system then your health system affects and you can spread it to others longer than that.

The common symptoms including sore throat, runny nose, congestion, and cough. Flu symptoms are similar, but also fever, headache and muscle soreness. In addition to that, the following symptoms of Flu affected peoples,

  • breathing difficulty
  • pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
  • dizziness, 
  • confusion, or loss of alertness
  • a low appetite
  • not urinating, which may indicate dehydration
  • severe pain
  • weakness, and unsteadiness
  • a worsening of other existing health conditions

Common cold is one of the Airborne virus and it is a milder respiratory illness than the flu.

what causes the common cold?

Rhinoviruses are the most common cause for the Common Cold. It is spread when we inhale virus particles from an infected person’s sneeze, cough, speech, or loose particles from when they wipe their nose. 

How long does a cold last?

Cold symptoms usually begin with a sore throat, which usually goes away after a day or two. Runny nose, and congestion follow, along with a cough by the fourth and fifth days.

Chicken pox

Chicken pox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. If you have chicken pox, you can spread it for a day or three before you get the telltale rash. Most of the people infected chicken pox only once, and then the virus goes dormant. The infected person will get a painful skin condition called shingles.

Symptoms of chicken pox

  • fever
  • headache
  • loss of appetite
  • Red or pink bumps all over your body
  • The bumps become blisters filled with fluid.
  • The bumps become crusty, and begin to heal.

Measles

Measles is a very contagious airborne disease, particularly in crowded conditions. The virus that causes measles can remain active in the air or on surfaces for up to 3 hours. You’re able to transmit it to others up to 5 days before and 4 days after the measles rashes appear. 

Measles is a major cause of death among children worldwide.  Measles vaccine needs to be taken for the born child, since it is more vulnerable for the born child.

Whooping cough

Whooping cough, it also called pertussis, is a serious respiratory infection caused by a type of bacteria called Bordetella pertussis. This respiratory illness causes swelling of the airways that results in a persistent hacking cough. It is highly contagiousness for about 2 weeks after the coughing starts.
